BrewPod

INTRODUCTION

  

Brewpod is a tool for people who make beer at home and for professionals who make beer for a living. It helps with every step of making beer from coming up with a recipe to watching the beer ferment. Brewpod makes it easy to make beer by helping people work together and share ideas. 

If you are just starting out and making a batch of beer or if you are making a lot of beer, Brewpod is a great tool to have. It helps you keep track of what you're doing and makes sure your beer turns out great. 

  

MISSION

  

The main goal of Brewpod is to make it easy for people to make beer without losing the special touch that comes with making something by hand. We want to help people make beer connect with other people who make beer try new things and make it easy for everyone to use the best tools to make beer. 

  

OBJECTIVE

We made Brewpod to help people make beer in a way. 

Here are some things Brewpod can do: 

• You can. Save your own recipes for beer. 

• Brewpod helps you through every step of making beer from mashing to conditioning. 

• You can keep track of the ingredients you have. Get reminders when you need more. 

• Brewpod does the math for you so you do not have to worry about making mistakes. 

• You can plan out when you want to make beer and get reminders. 

• You can change your recipe to make less beer without messing up the ingredients.  

• Brewpod helps you keep track of how money you are spending on ingredients. 

• You can see how your beer is turning out and make changes to make it better. 

• You can also talk to people who make beer and share your recipes and ideas with them. 

• Brewpod works on your phone so you can use it when you are making beer. 

• We keep your recipes and information safe so nobody else can see it. 

 

• We want to help you make the beer you can so we have a community of people who can answer your questions and help you learn. 

  

• Brewpod can also work with tools you use to make beer like devices that track the temperature and other things. 

• If you make beer for a living Brewpod can help you with the paperwork and regulations you need to follow. 

• We are always trying to make Brewpod better and add features to help you make the best beer you can. 

• Our goal is to make Brewpod the best tool for people who make beer whether you are just starting out or have been doing it for a time. 

  

TECHNOLOGIES

  

We used different technologies to build Brewpod, including: 

  

• TypeScript, which helps us make sure our code is correct and works well. 

• React Native, which lets us make apps for both Android and iPhone. 

  

• Tailwind CSS, which makes it easy to make our app look great. 

• Node.js, which helps us make our app fast and efficient. 

• MongoDB, which stores all of the information we need. 

• AWS, which gives us the power we need to run our app. 

  

• RabbitMQ, which helps all of the parts of our app work together. 

TIMELINE 

It took us six months to build Brewpod. 

  

TEAM STRUCTURE 

  

We had a team of six people who worked on Brewpod including two frontend developers, one backend developer, one QA specialist, one project architect and one project manager. 

  

CHALLENGES ENCOUNTERED 

One of the things we had to do was get our app to work with a special device that helps with making beer. 

We also had to figure out how to get our app to work on types of phones and make sure it was stable and did not crash. 

  

Sometimes the device would disconnect from the app, which was frustrating. 

  

We also had to make sure our app worked with versions of Android. 

  

It was hard to get the device to give us the information, which made it hard to make our app work correctly. 

  

We also had to design a system to store all of the information we needed which was complicated. 

  

It took us a while to figure out how to use a tool called GitHub Actions, which helps us make sure our app is working correctly. 

  

CONCLUSION 

  

Brewpod is a tool for people who make beer. It helps you make beer and connects you with other people who make beer.  

You can share your recipes and ideas with people and learn from them.  

Brewpod is more, than an app. It is a community of people who love making beer and want to help each other make the best beer they can.
